Okay, it's a little harsh. However, for all of you who saw the MTV Video Music Awards a few nights ago will probably have heard what's going on by now. The host of said event, Russell Brand, made fun of the Jonas Brothers' "promise rings" or "purity rings", displaying their commitment to staying virgins until their wedding days. Some have called his jokes off-color and inappropriate. Jordin Sparks, the real reason I am writing this post, responded with this comment:

“It's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everybody — guy or girl — wants to be a slut.”

And this girl is supposed to be a role model to our sisters, daughters, and friends? What is the world thinking when it chooses a close-minded person like Jordin Sparks to look up to?

It's fine if you want to wear a purity ring. It's fine if you want to stay a virgin until marriage; I personally don't see any logic in that, but that's your opinion, we are all Americans (at least for those in America), and we have the right as human beings to choose what we do with our bodies.

But the moment you being judging OTHERS is when you cross a line with me. Did you ever wonder how religious wars are started, how gay people and black people are suddenly relegated to second citizens? It's because people, like Jordin Sparks, have no business impeding or trying to take away someone's rights. Yet, because she's a celebrity (even though she's barely old enough to vote), people are listening to her and her narrow words.

I don't get it. Why are these books so popular? They're BAD. They're basically the same old thing we've seen for a long time; girl meets vampire, vampire and girl fall in love. Only then, those characters were actually entertaining and not complete morons.

She VOLUNTARILY moves to Forks, then bitches about how it's so cold and damp and how she is so used to the Phoenix weather where it's as sunny as Hell there. She COULD have stayed in sunny Florida with her mom and her mom's luva, but she said no. Cuz she's a bitch.

She constantly refers to herself as ugly or plain or unattractive, and yet, there are like 5 (FIVE) whole guys just DYING to date her. But she's also clumsy (JUST CUZ YOU FALL OFF A FUCKING BIKE ONCE IN A WHILE DOES NOT MAKE YOU CLUMSY; TRY FALLING OFF A FUCKING CURB AND BREAKING YOUR LEG IN FIVE PLACES, AND THEN GET BACK TO ME...bitch), so that just makes her more attractive (SIDE NOTE ONE).

And, oh yeah, her dad buys her a fucking TRUCK, free of charge on her part. And she bitches that it's not what she expected. What a hobag.

Reasons Not to Legalize Gay Marriage?

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans...

Fic Plot Bunny Out The Ass! ... And Some Personal Shit You Don't Have To Stick Around For

Okay, so I was thinking about lunabee34's entry the other day (actually, it was earlier today, but whatever!) and how she had become almost bored (of course, I am paraphrasing) with the standard pairings in fandom. She mentioned some pairings I too have become a bit fatigued with, including Daniel/Jack from SG-1 and even, though it may shock some of you, Jensen/Jared (including Dean/Sam).

As I read Lorraine's entry, I started thinking. Since I was still in the "Supernatural RPS" mode right now, it would only make sense that my next story (when I wrote it, which would be soon since I have been bitten by the writing bug yet again) would include that fandom (if you could call it that). But I had only ever written Jensen/Jared, and that's mostly what pops up on my flist when I'm surfing.

But what about something else? I want to write something different; don't get me wrong, J2 is great! I love it and it's a hell of a lot of fun. But I want something to "spice" up my fanfiction and I have just the pairing:

JENSEN ACKLES / SANDY MCCOY

I have already made a brief, mashed together fanmix and hope to have the story up soon.

Okay, so this is going to be so freaking awesome. I went over to a friend's house after work the other day and we were talking with her mother and the question suddenly popped up: "How do you feel about Spain?"

We had talked a few months back about all taking a Russian river cruise, which would stop at St. Petersburg, Minsk, and other big cities, including Moscow. However, while my best friend's mom could get great prices for her and her daughter, the trip for me and another person would be around $6400 each. Yeah, not so much. So, we kind of nixed that idea and decided to perhaps go on a cruise around Hawaii this September. Well, my friend was surfing the Royal Carribean web site and she stumbled across a particular cruise for a great price:

I know, right!? It's perfect, a once in a lifetime opportunity! So, I am officially booked on that cruise, which leaves at the end of April. I even applied for my passport this morning.

3x01 ; "The Magnificent Seven"

Warning; here there be spoilers.

Okay, I know this is real late, but I had other stuff, so deal with it. :]

I really liked this week's episode (or, rather, last week since I'm so damned late). I love how they showed the aftermath of the devil's gate being opened. The clouds of demons, the waiting for five days, the anxiousness Dean and the rest of them felt (both waiting for the apocalypse to start and dreading when it does). You found out little by little what had happened and how freaked out it made the boys and le Bobby.

The concept of the Seven Deadly Sins was genius! To bring about this classic idea and image was great and just keeps the show steeped in lore and mythology. Sure, they could have picked anything to do, but to pick such a famous idea, and then pull it off so well (not to mention putting the individual "Supernatural" spin on it) made it so enjoyable to watch.

Regarding Isaac and Tamara. I liked them...somewhat. They were exactly what Bobby said: they do things half cocked. They're not as experienced as Bobby or the Winchester Boys, so they make the rookie mistakes. That's not necessarily a bad thing. This mistake just got Isaac killed.

The ending was good. Not the best since Ruby (or whatever the hell her name is) just came in at the last second. How damned random is that. I'm fine with her following them, keeping herself at a safe distance, maintaining the secrecy. Instead, she just waltzes in. The demons apparently know her, she has a knife made (probably, as this show goes) by Samuel Colt, and she just wastes three demons with little to no problem. Sure, Sam helped, but it made him seem...powerless, weak. We all know that Sam isn't weak. I would have liked to see some hinting at the demon's plans for him...before Dean whacked it. Maybe the demons get freaked out or something and run. Or whatever. I'm just throwing out ideas; there's a reason that I'm NOT a writer on this show.

But as far as Dean's new attitude goes (Sam was the same emo as always), I'm excited to see how far he takes this "new lease on life". His new 'tude adjustments were spot on, seeing as he has a year to live and he's already pretty much a hedonist (when he's not sacrificing his life to save his family or some other poor, innocent soul). Of course, he's going to get a little wild. And as for the Impala? Sure, Dean loves that thing, but I think he's more concerned with enjoying himself than worrying about whether or not he's going to scratch the underside of his "baby". After all, when he's dead, he's not going to care whether or not there are a few new dings on his car. He'll probably be more concerned with the fire and brimstone dealie.

Overall, great episode. Sam was emo and bitchy, as always. Dean was getting kinda craz-ay. And Bobby was adorable in a suit. Rawr.

Looking forward to this Thursday's.

So....What The Fuck?

So...I don't know what's going on. I'm kind of freaking out right now.

I got a "job" through my temp agency that said the job was long term with possibility for hire. At least, that's what the guy I talked to said when he notified me about the placement. I thought, 'Cool!' and went to work. The pay was great, and it was a receptionist job, which I got down pat.

So, I worked 8 hours Monday, and 6 1/2 hours the rest of the week (except for today). I mean, I sat there for freaking 6 1/2 hours, did my job to a 'T'. I was just starting, so I admit that I made some mistakes (There are sooo many freaking extensions to transfer calls to, come on! It takes some getting used to.), but not one single person complained. I mean it: not one person said ANYTHING to me. They would have if I did something wrong, right?

But, this morning, I got a call from my guy at the temp agency and he said that I was no longer needed in that position, that I didn't need to go out there. On one hand, I'm kind of relieved because I had no gas and it's a ways away from my house. But still...that was a job that I needed! I needed that money for school, and now, nothing.

I called him and asked him to find out what I did wrong, and I'm pretty anxious to find out what happened. I mean, I don't think I did anything wrong.

I worked through INDEPENDENCE DAY for Christ's sake.

But what if I did?

Like I don't have ENOUGH to stress about right now.

So, I really don't know what I'm going to talk about right now. I just thought that I'd put down things, and hope that they might be relevant to someone. Here goes nothing.

I saw "Live Free or Die Hard" today, and let me tell you, that movie makes me happy in all sorts of places. If I were a lesbian (and, unfortunately for all you female inclined ladies out there, I like boys way, way too much), Bruce Willis would surely turn me straight again. That man, even without -no, ESPECIALLY without- hair, is so gorgeous. When he was younger, he was alright. But, now that he's gotten older, he's getting way hotter. It's like Jensen and Jared; the older they get, the more gorgeous, lip quivering, hands shaking, oh my goodness, orgasm inducing they become. Seriously, they have no freaking respect for my panties.

So, back onto the actual movie (I know, I know, you'd rather read about teh hawtness known as Bruce Willis [there are sooo many good looking Bruces out there -Bruce Willis, Bruce Wayne, Bruce Banner...when he's not green and wearing the purple shorts-], but we've got to move on. Well, in conclusion, go see "Live Free or Die Hard" with Bruce Willis (GAH!), Justin Long (he's so adorkable, it's awesome), Timothy Olyphant (the sharper, more intense and dark version of Josh Duhamel...I always get these guys mixed up), and Kevin Smith (he's a balding computer geek -- who doesn't love that?).

The last trivia contest I did produced such a great response that I decided to do another! This is practically the same, but I hope that I've ironed most of the kinks out of it that I missed in the last one!
